And the award goes to...

Hope you weren't planning to collect your prizes at midnight last night... I was knocked out early by an evening of collective celebration (which is also how I'm going to spend this evening.. .it's all party party party around here! We have much to celebrate, but that's another blog).

Okay, so I wrote down all the contestant names (from both blogs) on bits of paper, put them in a bowl and had my husband do the draw...

In the order that he drew them:

Soccer Milf

Please leave a comment or message me your prize preferences. In all cases except the scarf, multiple contestants can choose the same prize. If there are multiple requests for the scarf, it will go to whomever messages me first.

For those of you who did not win, depending on what you were pining for... send me a beseeching e-mail, bat your eyes at me, stomp your feet and say it's not fair... whatever is your style for getting what you want, give it a try. I could probably be persuaded to give you prizes too. I'm just generous like that...

As I said, I have lots to celebrate right now, and it would be even sweeter if my friends had something to celebrate right now too, even if it is just the pleasure of finding a slightly beat up loaf of banana bread in the mail one morning.

(Please note: this is just a "for example"... the baking care package may or may not include banana bread... depending on whether I can keep my husband's hands off said banana bread long enough to package it up and send it.)

Thanks for playing... I look forward to hearing which prize caught your fancy.

  1. Hey Old Lady! I was in the juice yesterday and didn't have time to wish you a happy birthday. I love you and I want a scarf. ;)

    bizous, B.

  2. that's okay... i was only home for about 15 minutes all day. had an awesome day :-)

you know how to get me to do anything you want... of course you shall have a scarf. tell me the colour you want. and, do you want it soonish (do you still have snow up there in frosty northern Quebec??) or would you like it in time for autumn?

  3. yay for fun stuff!!! congrats, I want to hear about the party(ies)

  4. okay, Char... but only because you asked. i don't want to sound like i'm looking for love ('cos i gots lots!)

first thing to celebrate: i made a commitment to train for my first ever marathon, and to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society... and i achieved both of those goals two weeks ago.

second: US Immigration made me a wonderful gift of Permanent Residency, which makes living here, working here, and leaving here (and coming back) SO much easier.

third: my husband's birthday was on Thursday

    fourth: my birthday was yesterday

So we had romantic birthday celebrations yesterday, and party with friends this afternoon/evening... and picnic by the river with other friends tomorrow. Really, almost an entire week of celebrating!

  5. I can't believe I won! Since I really want the banana bread but I live in Canada and it will be intercepted at the border... is it possible for you to write it down and mail it instead? Or email it, which is not as cool but it's way faster and cheaper? And how do I mail you? I have no idea how that works on blogspot. Maybe I'll check your profile right now for an address.

  6. Did I say banana bread? I think I'm getting all confused here... it says "Home baked goods care package". Ha ha! I'm totally losing it. What if you sent me recipes and I made them and posted them on my blog?

  7. What if I posted recipes on my blog for you...
Not quite to same as sending you a care package, but far less likely to be confiscated at the border.

    Hadn't thought about that.

  8. That sounds awesome. No trees will be harmed, and no border guards will call the biohazard team. Plus, everyone wins!

  9. that's right... the gift that keeps on giving.

okay, next blog... recipes for all!
(you're so generous wanting to share your prize)
